I agree about natural acquiscence. For me, it's not about activity but I have one domme and that's it. I always remember an old friend going to a play party (I think) where a domme he didn't know insisted that he call her Mistress. Think she got short shrift!
I am no lover of the "fans" either. One of the main reasons that we introduced rules on reviews -that's something else that could be looked at, I guess I don't have strong views about discussion of rates. It would be interesting to see what others think. Only thing I'd say is it could be a slippery slope. There may be other topics - premises - pictures of dommes on websites - that could fall into the same category |

I also agree to giving the Mod's more freedom. There have been times when a person has been pretty nasty to members and because the site works behind the scenes a certain way the mods were limited in what they could do and as it was during a time when Lady Sam was not about much said person got away with stuff he shouldn't for a long time.
My feelings and they may or may not be liked are if the people who have given up so much time to dedicate to the smooth running of this site, were given a little more trust in their proven abilities would not be to much to ask. I am not overly including myself in this as I am not always that active, more for Lisal and Reefy who I have seen put in many hours only to get grief for doing the job from members and often no support from the owners. So that is one thing I think would help the site and as I say I am sure not all will be happy with this post. Last edited by Mistress Adore; 04-02-2017 at 16:05. |

Mistress Adore, that suggestion would have my whole hearted support and I'm sure the same from many others here.

Just to give members an example. Exaggerated I know but with a core of truth in it
Mistress X offers a specialised service of hanging subs by their ankles out of her top floor window. This is sub Y's ultimate fantasy and it is affordable - it costs £200 Session happens Mistress X posts on UKM - mentioning that her speciality is as above. Sub Y sees this - and for whatever reason, good or bad, feels that s/he has not had the session that is wanted. So Sub Y posts that Mistress X is a charlatan. They were hung out of the window by elastic bands for 5 minutes. And it kicks off You try and calm it down. In private Mistress X is demanding that you delete Sub Y's posts and ban them for ever. Sub Y is private messaging you at the same time saying that Mistress X is useless and should be banned for ever because she doesn't provide services as described - and is dangerous. Oh - and both sides have friends who back them up! OTT I know - but the point is that most modding happens off the board I'm not complaining - it goes with the territory. But it isn't always very nice! |

And a 'me too' from me.
That is exactly what I was driving at in my earlier post. As to the "Mistress baiting" debate. I don't quite know how to police it, but there clearly needs to be stricter modding in this area. My own view - and this applies to all my internet dealings - is that the good old-fashioned concept of "politeness" should be instilled and encouraged on the board. i was brought up to be polite to people whether I liked them, or not and whether I agreed with them, or not. My personal test is to review what I have written and ask myself whether I would say those words to that persons face. And then to ask the same question if that person were a 6 foot bricklayer with a headache. if the answer is 'no', then it shouldn't be posted. Another problem which I perceive is that certain forms of rudeness can be manifested quite politely. Minute deconstructions of another's posts or opinions, made at great length with obscure references to scientific formulae or arcane allusions to 19th century philosophers. All quite polite, and fine between male members, but a mistress making what she considers to be a good or valid point will be seriously put off is she is going to be called upon to debate it in painful detail in writing. As I said, I don't know the answers - beyond firmer modding - but I do see the questions. Peace & Love poshie Last edited by posh-sub; 04-02-2017 at 16:48. |

My parents raised their children to always be painfully polite and never knowingly cause offence. It is not a perfect model but for want of anything better it suffices. I do disagree with your objection to polite rudeness, and instead rather admire a well constructed but concealed insult. It is very British and at least shows a whit of intelligence in the originator. When on the receiving end of these long fuse affronts they usually make me smile with appreciation. Intelligence over ignorance is always worth a smile. Kind Regards, The Fireman.

Power to the Mods
I think the MODS do an excellent job even with their restricted functionality and I agree that they do require more authority to handle issues otherwise we will once more get to the stage when poor Lady Sam has to handle all the c**p and that will lead to disillusionment.
If we trust the mods, they can be given the authority and Lady Sam can have an easier life! |
