While pondering on the legality of certain substances I was comparing the use of alcohol and marijuana . One legal and the other mainly not . It occurred to me that the effect of alcohol dulls the senses and reduces awareness . Marijuana on the other hand can greatly enhance the feeling of awareness and lead to higher states of consciousness .

One only has to think of the effect drugs has on the creative ability of many musicians . This was especially true of the swinging 60's and the peace and love generation .

It's easy to see why one substance is allowed while another is banned . Alcohol dumbs people down while marijuana enlightens others - we can't have that . People might start thinking about changing the system .

As with most things in life , moderation is key .

A very interesting post and thank you for the fresh insight. I would add further the taxation that the government currently receives from alcohol is sufficient reason for them not to ban it. There are a few issues where the government could do much worse than to legalise weed and thus get a revenue stream from taxation: Fuel duties will decline as more electric milk floats replace carbon power, Cigarette revenue is on the decline as more people vape. Perhaps the legalisation of cannabis should be on the cards?

Just to clarify my own personal details;
I have never smoked weed,
I no longer smoke cigs
I have a petrol guzzler but am contemplating change
I have a superb PD and not contemplating change.

Oh yeah! I'd definitely be up for that!

It's years since I last went there and I ALWAYS enjoyed myself.

In my opinion, one of the most civilised cities in the world.

Peace & Love

Did anyone see a programme last night called `Going To Pot` some household names (some not so) Pat off Eastenders, a Bird of a Feather, (Sorry dont remember actual names) a darts player and a very irritating, dull and patronising foooootaller oh and of course Christopher Biggins.

Basically a road trip around The States where weed is legal, most of them tried it (apart from the irritating foooootballer) in different guises and it appeared all quite genuine, good old Pat got right stuck in!
