eBAY disputes
Have any of you folks got any experience of resolving eBAY purchase disputes where the item was bought more than 45 days ago.
My wife bought a Dyson off a trader on there, who had excellent feedback at that time. That was at the end of July and there is no manufacturers warranty on it but he did advertise it was guaranteed by himself for 6 months. 4 months on its kerputt, but eBAY say they can not do anything as its over 45 days old. To contact the seller we need to put in the item number on eBAY, but that won't accept an item that is more than 45 days old, to contact customer services by phone or webchat you need a pin, which you have to get on the site and to get a pin.... yep you need the item number etc which it won't accept. Its not a big issue as the Dyson didn't cost a lot, but would be nice to at least try and get our money back or get it repaired. Ominously the seller now has a lot of negative feedback over the last few weeks, clearly he has had a batch of dodgy machines. Has anyone had a similar issue and found a good way to handle it and try to get money back etc? Thanks in advance. Rob |

Rob,
If you have the sellers ebay trading name and you place him in your saved sellers list, you should be able to contact him by pressing the 'More Actions' button on the right of the saved sellers list. After pressing the 'Contact Seller' it opens a window - just tick the box where it says this is not about an item (even though it is!) and then you can send him a message. You may not get a reply but a least it's worth a try. Last edited by Alan_1; 01-12-2010 at 18:09. |
