I received a request and accepted it, I saw it as someone fairly new to the board wanting to build acquaintences with people so I see nothing wrong with that. I don't see any reason why this should be labelled as spam nor anything wrong with what she has done. I don't feel we should get to the stage where we criticise people on here for trying to build friendships.

and I thought it's a sign (the band!) - I actually looked into asking for a session that day - and now everyone got one, doh!

Rob, I've agreed with you on most things over the years. On this one we're going to disagree. On a commercial BDSM board, no. This doesn't stack up as someone building friendships. It stacks up as spam - and an insult to those of us who have real friendships with real people.

What are friends for ?

I too received this request, but haven't responded. I don't understand what benefits a 'friend' brings on a forum. What extra does it add to posting or PM'ing ?

Please can someone explain.

I'm afraid I'm just not up with the times.

Regards,
Rimmer.

If you send a friend request to 1 person then it is a genuine request, but if you send a request to numerous people at the same time then that surely must be classed as spam (and chips)

Slutty rimmer asks "what are friends for"? Don't know really unless they put there hands in there pockets to buy the beer, but when I having a lot of problems and wasn't around on here a few months back I recieved a few e mails from board members asking if I was ok, so that could define "what are friends for".

I too have received (and rejected) the request. However, it must be said that she posted on the board too, so all may not be as it seems.

I checked out her posting history and website before accepting her request. Seems genuine enough to me but I stand to be proved wrong.

I've also had a friend request from the same source. I've never met her, don't recall reading any posts from her, don't know her from Adam basically. I've not responded either way but have just deleted the email.
