How to recover deleted photos from a card

The following snippet may be of use to anyone who like me uses digital camera and may have inadvertently deleted a picture from the SD card and want to recover it.

1) As soon as you realise what you have done, DO NOT take any photos or do anything to the card.

2) Download and Install a programme called "Recuva" (it’s free) to your home PC/laptop. This programme can be found at www.filehippo.com

3) Once the programme has been installed onto your pc, then depending on how you normally transfer your pictures from the SD card to your computer either put the SD card into a card reader or attach your camera to computer via a usb cable. Run Recuva and scan SD Card

4) Save any/all found files to your pc. Save them anywhere other than SD card.

Indeed it is a great little programme and of course best of all it is free! :) I used it to recover some gap year photos for the daughter of one of my colleagues at work and she now things that I am a god! :laughbounce2:

It is developed by Piriform which is the same company that make CCleaner another excellent programme.

I spotted that on one of the IT forums at work and thought it would be useful.

BTW if anyone buys a BELKIN router as I did on Sunday, I have the instructions of how to set it up in my head. I was told it would plug in and play, Reality is that you need to phone BELKIN on a local number (0845) and get them to take you through the set up. I'm free !:lolsign:
