The Sun runs the risk that people of all political persuasions will see it as a propaganda sheet rather than a newspaper. This is borne out by the fact that their vilification of Gordon Brown has backfired.

I think the British public are smart enough to realise that the proprietor has dumped New Labour for political reasons rather than failure of policy. Ultimately the Sun’s readership will turn away as it becomes more of a Tory fanzine.

The Sun will not play a significant role in shaping the outcome of next General Election because voters live in the internet age and newspapers have neither the influence nor circulation they once had.

The pachyderm standing on the shagpile ,which the bien pensants of these parts are intent on ignoring is that ,whilst much of what they say about the Sun is true, they have maintained a deafening silence on its shortcomings whilst it has supported NuLabour.

The only time ever supported by buying the Sun was when I was 16 in 1975 and then only cause it had page 3 :dribble: never did find out if page count went above 3, and yes I could count above 3 because I used also study MenOnly, Playboy oh and Forum :shhh:

I wish electro wouldn't use the term 'NuLabourites'. This terminology, along with its close relatives ZanuLabour and NewLiebor, tends to be the invective of choice of the 24-7 right-wing malcontents in the blogosphere.
You get a lot of this language in the on-line versions of the Telegraph, Mail and Times. One contributor last week even called for Brown to be 'painlessly put out of his misery' which isn't even funny.
