stephensub, who frequented these boards very occasionally, and who posted on the previous version of UKM, died in France on Tuesday May 6th. His funeral was held, last week, in the Cathedral in Oloron Ste Marie, close to, what had become, our lovely home at Issor and he was buried in the village churchyard in the foothills of the Pyrenees.

His wife died in 2000 and, from then on he 'dipped his feet', very discretely and very privately, in the BDSM trough! I know he wanted to take part in the 'caning charity event' a number of years ago but lost his nerve at the last minute and always regretted it. We met about five years ago and he retired from public life three years ago having had a distinguished career as a musician, performer and lecturer. He was an international authority in his field and had a number of publications to his credit.

stephensub had a number of friends and acquaintances here and, among his, very detailed, instructions in the event of his death was a request for me to make a post on here informing this community of his passing - which I now do.
